It is a challenging walk of about 7.5 kilometres that connects the village of Collevergari to the Arbure and Bugnano Springs. The route develops in a still little known portion of the mountain. As soon as you leave the small village, you start a walk embraced by chestnut groves, along a road that alternates dirt stretches and steep concrete ones. Here the work of man is transformed into a work of art with centuries-old chestnut woods as well-kept as gardens and lava rock giants that have watched over the steps of travellers for millennia. The climb of the first stretch is difficult, but the effort is well rewarded by the charm of the place and the sounds of the woods. Lava flows, stony paths worn by time and old mule tracks scratched by the hooves of pack animals, are the signs of a mountain where the past is still alive. The Arbure Spring can be reached after following a steep concrete road and after crossing a small bridge that crosses the surrounding stream. The Bugnano Spring is about 1 kilometre away from the first point of interest. The circular route, which for a short distance corresponds to the path to reach the Amiata Ring, gives the opportunity to discover ancient drying rooms, once used to dry the exquisite chestnuts of the Amiata, also offering a view of extraordinary panoramas.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”1″ animation=”fadeInUp” margin_top=”20″ padding_top=”40″ padding_bottom=”10″][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
