Itinerary The springs of Seggiano

This Via dell’Acqua, with its 19 kilometers, is one of the longest to date. It connects some of the most important springs in the municipality of Seggiano starting from the village of Tepolini. The length of the route and the technical sections that alternate with wide and comfortable paths make this Via dell’Acqua quite challenging but all the efforts are rewarded by the scenic and naturalistic beauties that you encounter. Step by step you leave behind the noises of everyday life and the picturesque villages of Amiata. The woods of Mount Amiata are the settings of this long route made of pleasant discoveries. The flow of water is the relaxing sound that accompanies walkers. Along the way, after wading across the Bugnano river you will find the majestic springs of Bugnano and Capovetra but also smaller ones such as the Matrolla Spring, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Val d’Orcia. Along the almost twenty kilometres of climbs and descents you can finally come across centuries-old chestnut groves and cross, even if for short stretches, the immense beechwood of Mount Amiata.
